Dariusz Slowik is a full-time pro athlete who has competed in many international events such as the Junior World Championships and the European Championships for Hammer & Discusthrow. Darius recently (August 06, 2006) WON GOLD MEDAL in the MEN'S DISCUS 2.0kg at the 2006 Canadian Track & Field Championships in Ottawa, ON. Dariusz is Also Commonwealth games bronze medalist 2006 in Melbourne (AUS) and Pan Am Games Medalist in 2007 in RIO Brazil
His personal best so far is 64.56 meters; this total places him in the top 20 in the World for 2004.
Dariusz has been attending Junior college in Moorpark (CA) and is the 2004 state champion in Hammer and Discusthrow. He also holds the Junior College National discus record of 211.5 feet in the USA.
Although he was born in Poland and has competed for them in the past, Dariusz has proudly represented Canada in competition for the last four years.
Dariusz speaks 5 languages (Polish, Danish, Swedish, German, English, Italian), and holds a Guinness World Record for the longest car push. He broke this record by pushing a Dodge Neon SX2 (2900lbs) 56km in 10 hours. The proceeds ($10,000.00) raised were donated to the Terry Fox Foundation to help fight cancer.
